Topic 2: Manufacturing the Typical Battery
Siemens has been one of the outstanding battery developers and manufacturers. The illustration below portrays what one would expect to see if one were to dissassemble a battery (not recommended as this is a safety concern).

Before getting into some additional details, one should recognize that there are several very reputable manufacturers of batteries which stand behind their products and hold themselves responsible in the event of defects which need to be addressed, even publicly if necessary. On the other hand, there have been instances where primarily some Asian sources have provided batteries with questionable attributes and may even contain defects from suboptimal manufacturing and assembly.
